reSOURCE: A PSI THRIFT STORE
Launched in Spring 2023
In Spring Quarter 2023, Phoenix Sustainability Initiative opened reSOURCE, UChicago's first ever on-campus thrift store. The non-profit, student-run store, located in the basement of Stuart Hall (previously Stuart Café), collects and redistributes clothes from and to the UChicago community. All profits from selling secondhand clothing is donated to local environmental non-profits. This project is spearheaded by PSI's Campus Waste Reduction project group.

reSOURCE: Integrating Sustainability into UChicago
-
Diverting Waste: By collecting community clothes as inventory, our thrift shop aims to divert clothing waste from landfills and back into closets where they will be worn.

-
Accessible, Sustainable Alternatives: Our thrift store's central location of Stuart Hall will provide the entire campus community easy access to second-hand clothing.

-
Supporting local organizations: Through its non-profit designation, the thrift store will donate all profits to local environmental organizations (list of partners coming soon).
